Half-Term Fun With Baking Fresh… Baking fresh is a fabulous subscription box filled with all fresh ingredients to bake different yummy treats each month. I love how they added my name on a piece of the card too. It makes it feel that little bit more personal.

I absolutely love baking with the kids. It’s a great way to spend some quality time together and make something yummy too. They are always very proud to see the finished result and know they did it themselves. This half-term Connor had his friend over to play and I took the opportunity to get baking with them.

After the kids had taken it in turns adding the ready measured ingredients, we gave it a mix in the stand mixer and poured the mixture into the tin. As always the kids sat and licked out the bowl. This has to be the most fun part of baking and I still remember my mum letting me lick out the bowl when I was Connor’s age!

The finished result of the Chocolate and peppercorn cake was so delicious. It looked great and it tasted even better! The only downside was that the cake came out quite flat and it was very hard to slice it in half to add the filling. Apart from that it was very yummy indeed and went perfectly with a cup of tea.
